なぜ、DXiを使うか？†
DXiはいわゆるプラグイン型のソフト音源です。技術的にはDirect Xを使ったものになっています。
ソフト音源といえば、スタンドアロン型のものとして、VSCとかS-YXG50あたりが有名ですが、DXiにはこれらよりも遙かに高性能な音源が数多くリリースされています。
たとえば、SONARに付属するTTS-1という音源はSD-90にも迫る音質を誇ります。しかも、ハード音源に比べ比較的安価な値段設定となっています。
導入の方法†
- まず、MIDIYokeをインストールします。ダウンロード元は以下の通り。
- 普通にインストールします。インストールに成功するとMuseの音源のところが増えているはずです。
- DXiに対応したシーケンサーなどを用意します。条件は、MIDI INを受け付けることのみです。ここでは、フリーソフトであるREAPERを使って説明します。
- とりあえず、REAPERを起動して、新規作成します。
- REAPERで使うDXiのスキャンをしておきます。VSTiもあれば一緒に登録するといいでしょう。
- MIDI InおよびMIDI Outの設定もしておきましょう。ここでは、MIDI Inに必ずMIDI Yokeを設定することです。
- 一つトラックを作ります。右クリックでメニューが出てきます。
- 適当なDXiシンセを選択します。ここでは、TTS-1を選択してみました。
- REC inと書いてあるところの右側のバーの部分を右クリックし入力元としてMIDI Yoke1を選択します。
- インプットモニタリングモードをONにしておきます。
- トラックの一部を選択状態にしてInsert empty space in selectionと書いてあるところを選択します。
- マウスポインターのある赤丸のところをクリックします。
- Muse側で音源の選択をMIDI Yoke1にして演奏開始します。すると、DXiより音が出力されるはずです。
